Founded by Martinos Demosthenous, an HR professional with experience of over 17 years in leading companies of all sizes across various sectors - including Financial Services, FinTech, Asset Management, Manufacturing, Food and Beverage, and Employee Benefits - HR Emphasis was established to deliver affordable, professional, and practical solutions that respect both your time and investment.

The Founder
Our Founder, Martinos Demosthenous, began his journey with a BSc in Communication and Media followed by a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources Management (MBA) in Human Resources Management. He launched his career at a startup HR Consulting firm in Greece, providing Employee Assistance Programs and Wellness Benefits to Fortune 500 companies with operations in Greece and Cyprus. He later relocated to Cyprus, to join one of the country's largest companies - a leading pharmaceuticals manufacturer - where he established their HR Department from the ground up, and served as Head of HR for 9 years. He was then headhunted by one of the world's most reputable companies in the Financial Services (Forex - FinTech) industry, where he spent 5 years as Group Head of HR. He then joined a leading European Asset Management and Advisory firm as Group HR Director, followed by a tenure at a leading Forex and Commodities broker as Group Chief HR Officer.
Throughout his career, Martinos has consulted with entrepreneurs, managers, and employees across all levels and industries.
He has:
- Recruited for hundreds of roles and interviewed thousands of candidates
- Organized and delivered numerous training sessions
- Designed and implemented performance management systems
- Managed mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and redundancies
- Conducted several HR surveys
- Drafted and reviewed policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and employment agreements in full compliance with local labor laws
- Mediated disputes and grievances, implemented disciplinary measures, and handled employment tribunals
Having spent many years as an in-house HR professional working with external consultants and service providers, Martinos identified a gap in the market: HR services could be more affordable, more professional, more practical, and less time-consuming — ultimately providing clients with a higher return on investment.
After accumulating many years of diverse, hands-on experience in companies of all sizes and sectors — including Financial Services, FinTech, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Food and Beverage, Employee Benefits, and Consulting— Martinos made the decision to launch his own firm.
Backed by a wide professional network of associates and partners, he aspires to serve clients as a true one-stop HR shop.
